Teaching

I’ve had the opportunity to teach classes in community writing, argument writing, rhetorical analysis, and writing and literature, from first-year composition to assisting with facilitating a graduate course.

For me, both the teaching and study of composition are deeply and intricately entangled, and many of my courses involve students engaging audiences outside of the classroom and in their communities as well as exploring their civic responsibilities and possibilities, informing my scholarship.

I have also had the opportunity to work as a teaching mentor for fellow graduate teaching assistants, working with them to create course materials and reflect on their pedagogical choices as well as work collaboratively with many K-College instructors through the Nebraska Writing Project, which continues to illuminate my own pedagogical positions.
